About me
Hi, I'm Samantha
Growing up in the Bay Area, I learned that life moves fast and there's always somewhere to be. It's easy to forget to check in with yourself when the demands never end. I know that firsthand, and I recognize what it can mean to have someone steady beside you as you find your way back.
I come from a big Latin family, and my culture has shaped how I see the world. It taught me that every person's story is layered and that no two are the same. It also taught me that we're all connected. Underneath our differences, we all want to feel seen, understood, and like we belong.
My work is built on compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person's story. Whatever your background, you'll be understood and respected here.
My approach
Safe, collaborative, and tailored to you
Being a therapist is one of the most meaningful parts of my life. Nothing brings me more joy than watching someone find their footing, their voice, and the strength that was in them all along.
Above all, I want therapy to feel like a safe place to land. Whether you've never felt fully heard or you're carrying things you've never said out loud, you can move at your own pace here, without judgment or pressure.
I look at the whole person, not just the problem, and I build on the strengths you already carry. My approach is trauma-informed, which means safety and trust come first. I use methods research shows really work, and I bring a calm presence, practical tools, and experience in both outpatient and crisis care. You're the expert on your own life, and we'll decide together what to focus on. I also like to bring play and laughter into our sessions, because healing doesn't have to feel heavy all the time.
Who I work best with
You don't need to know exactly what's wrong or what to say. I work best with people who are ready to take a first step, even a small one, and want someone steady to help figure out the rest. I'm strengths-based, so we'll start with what's already strong in you.
Preteens & Teens
- Constant worry, or stomachaches and headaches before school
- Trouble focusing, losing track of assignments, or struggling to get started
- Big emotions, snapping, or shutting down
- Pulling away from friends and family, or losing interest in things that used to matter
- Feeling not good enough, or comparing themselves to everyone else
- Harsh self-talk and a fear of being judged or left out
Young Adults
- Racing thoughts, overthinking, and trouble sleeping
- Feeling stuck, behind, or overwhelmed by everyday tasks
- Low mood, low energy, or feeling numb
- Starting things but struggling to finish them
- Doubting yourself, or feeling like you're not good enough
- Putting everyone else first, or not being sure who you are
Parents
- Feeling worn out, guilty, or unsure how to help your child
- The same arguments happening again and again
- Walking on eggshells at home
- Worrying about your kid and not knowing what's normal
- Feeling like you're failing, or comparing yourself to other parents
- Wanting tools that actually work, without more pressure on yourself
Not sure any of this fits? That's okay. Reach out and we'll talk it through. If I'm not the right fit, I'll help you find someone who is.
Outside the therapy room
Dogs, chickens, and the beach
You'll usually find me chasing my dogs Asher & Olive along the beach or wrangling Thelma, Louise, Marshmallow, Thing 1, Thing 2, and Jessica (don't worry, those are my chickens). The rest of the time I'm experimenting in the kitchen or soaking up time with my husband and our very big, very loud family, usually over a very competitive game night.
